Do EU citizens need a work permit to work in Sweden?
Updated
No. Citizens of EU and EEA countries and Switzerland can work in Sweden without a permit, and Nordic citizens have the simplest route of all. Someone staying a year or longer registers with the Swedish Tax Agency to get a personnummer.
In detail
- EU, EEA and Swiss citizens: no work permit.
- Family members from outside the EU may need a residence card.
- Registration (folkbokföring) for stays of a year or more.
How Settio helps
