Book the identity check for your first days
Everyone moving with you goes to a state service centre in person after you arrive. Some centres only see people who have booked, so book a time for the day after you land.

An e-ID before your personnummer
If you hold an EU/EEA or UK passport, there is an approved e-ID for people without a Swedish number, set up remotely with your passport. Many services still ask for a personnummer, so it bridges the first weeks.

FAQ
Your first weeks in Sweden, explained
What should I do first after moving to Sweden?
Register at Skatteverket (folkbokföring) if you'll stay a year or more: it leads to your personnummer, which the ID card, the bank and BankID build on. You can report the move in Skatteverket's e-service 14 days before you move at the earliest, then go to a state service centre for the identity check after you land.
What if I stay less than a year?
You aren't entered in the population register. You apply for a coordination number (samordningsnummer) in Skatteverket's e-service and book an identity check at a state service centre; a basic payment account is then the realistic bank goal.
Are the dates exact?
No. They are planning dates counted from your landing day and from the step before, so you know what comes when. Waiting times at the authorities vary.
Does this tool store what I type?
No. The plan is made in your browser; only a link you copy carries the landing day and the length of stay.
