Do we have to advertise the job before hiring someone from outside the EU?
Updated · Facts checked against the official sources below
Yes. The position must be advertised in Sweden and in the EU/EEA and Switzerland for at least ten days before the employment contract is signed. The usual way is the Swedish Public Employment Service's job bank, whose ads also show on EURES; an ad elsewhere must reach as widely.
In detail
- At least ten days, before the contract is signed.
- Keep proof of the advertisement and its dates.
- An ad only on a professional social network is usually not enough.
How Settio helps
Settio puts the advertisement step first in the plan, with its date counted back from the offer.
